What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Surfing can do much more to positively impact communities where it happens, the surfers who go there and promote social good. Efforts are siloed and leadership is lacking. Human and financial resources exist, but are scarce.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Impact Surf Travel

Personalized surf experiences that give back to the destination communities through cultural exchange and mutual learning.

Population(s) Served

We advocate for the positive role surfing can play in social good goals. For example, humanitarian, education, gender equality, conservation can all be positively addressed through surf-related activities.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We will further establish our position as global leaders in impact surf travel and surf voluntourism. We inspire high team and partner morale, satisfaction and organizational growth. We will continue to have a positive social impact on travelers, community members and grassroots initiatives.

If we provide fun, impactful, personalized surf experiences, then travelers lives are enriched through surfing, learning and volunteering.

If we provide human and economic resources to grassroots initiatives, then they will be more effective delivering their services on the community level.

If we provide cultural exchange and learning opportunities for community members around the world, those community members will participate in global citizenship otherwise unavailable.

Our collective team has garnered a large amount of experience over the last 10 years. Between our online presence, dedicated board members, one-of-a-kind CEO, and partner entities around the world, we are poised for success. Additionally, engaged alumni can share their stories and inspire others to participate and travel with the organization.

We have helped establish the grassroots initiative WAVES Peru in Lobitos that is currently 100% managed and directed by Peruvians living in the community.

We have yet to have signed agreements with other grassroots initiatives already begun in other countries around the world with unmet educational needs and unrealized surf tourism potential.

Our efforts have been recognized and endorsed by the UN Office of Sport Development and Peace.

We are exploring the role WAVES can play in assisting Olympic surf teams in realizing their social-cultural, environmental and economic impact goals.
