Mission

The mission of the Woodland Hills Foundation is to provide financial support for the Woodland Hills School District in order to create solutions to ensure motivation, opportunities, goal achievement, and the highest level of quality education for students, faculty, and staff. The Foundation will encourage the community to join into a partnership of lifetime learning to form a premiere school district in Western Pennsylvania.

Mini Grants

Mini-Grants are modest cash awards that help educators make a positive difference in the learning experience of their students. More importantly, Mini-Grants support, encourage, and facilitate great teaching ideas. Since 2002, 138 Mini-Grants have been funded totaling over $68,000. Any member of Woodland Hills School District's instructional or professional staff (i.e., teachers, counselors, librarians, or nurses) are eligible to apply for a Mini-Grant.

Population(s) Served

Each year, the Woodland Hills Foundation offers scholarships to graduating seniors from Woodland Hills High School. Those scholarships are: 1. The Julia Anne McCool Memorial Scholarship: Given to a student who will continue their education in music, art, performing arts, liberal arts, or the humanities. 2. The Woodland Hills Foundation Senior Scholarship: Given to a graduating senior who will continue their education at a vocational, technical, or non-4 year program that awards a diploma, certificate or Associates Degree upon completion. 3. The Debbie Spahr Thames Memorial Scholarship: Given to a graduating senior who will continue their education in a healthcare program that offers a diploma, certificate, Bachelor's or Associates Degree upon completion. 4. The Hospital Albert Schweitzer Scholarship:Given to a graduating senior who will continue their education in a 4-year educational program for health care or service profession that grants a Bachelor's degree or higher upon completion. 5. The Darcy Lynne Herman Scholarship:Given to a senior(s) who will graduate from Woodland Hills High School having excelled in both the sciences and humanities.6. The Barrie and Arleen Bartulski Scholarship for Academic Excellence:Given to a graduating Woodland Hills High School Senior from Turtle Creek, PA who holds the highest GPA.7. The Eileen Lazaro Memorial Scholarship:Given to a graduating male senior who has had academic and athletic success, acted as a good citizen of Woodland Hills High School and who will continue their education in a 4-year or longer educational program that grants a Bachelor's degree or higher upon completion.8. The Nancy Lazaro Memorial Scholarship: Given to a graduating female senior who has had academic and athletic success, acted as a good citizen of Woodland Hills High School and who will continue their education in a 4-year or longer educational program that grants a Bachelor's degree or higher upon completion.

Population(s) Served

The Woodland Hills Foundation All District Art Show is an opportunity for students in grades first through twelfth, throughout the Woodland Hills School District, to showcase their artwork from the past school year. From drawings and sketches, to pottery and sculptures, the All District Art Show prominently displays student artwork during the Spring Musical weekends.

Population(s) Served

The Woodland Hills Foundation's Alumni Cabaret usually takes place in conjunction with the All District Art Show. It's a one night event where Alumni from past Woodland Hills musicals are asked to come back and sing some of their favorite songs from their favorite shows. It is a well attended and anticipated event by the Woodland Hills community.
