BUNKERS IN BAGHDAD
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
One of the problems that our troops face is that when they finally get some down time, they don’t have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to having some fun, finding a way to relieve stress, and boosting the morale of their unit. We also find that our veterans and warriors here at home don’t have a lot of outlets in terms of their rehabilitation.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Bunkers Buddies Program
Bunkers in Baghdad works hand in hand with schools all throughout the United States in collecting and packaging golf equipment for our soldiers. We have worked with over 1,462 schools in all 50 states. The students also draw pictures and write letters for our soldiers too.
Bunkers in Baghdad- VA Hospitals - Distributions to Physical Therapy Programs
Bunkers in Baghdad has partnered with VA Hospitals around the country to provide equipment to therapists who provide physical therapy and recovery to our injured vets. With the donation of golf equipment to the hospitals, therapists are able to teach rehabilitative mental techniques such as stress management as well as physical rehabilitation.
Vets and Warriors Overseas
Bunkers continues to ship golf equipment to U.S. Soldiers that are stationed around the world. We ship golf nets, golf turf, golf clubs and golf balls to those serving overseas. We have currently shipped 12,500,000 golf balls and 1,000,000 clubs to 74 countries around the world.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Bunkers in Baghdad strives to provide stress relief and build camaraderie among our troops stationed overseas by sending them golf equipment. We also provide golf equipment to our veterans and warriors here at home which help aid in their rehabilitation. We hope that by providing golf equipment to our troops and veterans that it would allow them to take their mind off of the harsh realities that they face daily and to help with their recovery process.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We will continue our efforts of collecting golf equipment from various locations around the country. We will also continue to work with our national partners like Callaway, Topgolf and Dick's Sporting Goods to supply our brave men and women with golf equipment.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Through our national partnerships we are provided golf equipment on a regular basis. We also receive donations from various donors and golf courses who supply us equipment to send to VA Hospitals and to our troops. Through our Bunkers Buddies program we have worked with over 1,618 schools across the country where students help us collect and ship golf equipment to our troops and veterans. Lastly, through our social media platforms we are also able to reach out to our potential donors to assist us as well.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
So far, we have been able to ship over 13,000,000 golf balls, 1,000,000 golf clubs, and have reached troops in 74 different countries around the world. We have also been able to work with over 1,618 schools around the country in our Bunkers Buddies Program. We have also extended our role with warriors around the country, in our VA hospitals, VA clinics, and the Fisher House. Through these efforts we have been able to assist thousands of vets and warriors across the country and we will continue to do so as long as we receive equipment support from our donors and volunteers to assist us with these efforts.
