Off the Wall Gallery

Check our schedule for exhibits of community and regional artists. We strive to expose the community to a variety of media, artist styles, and skill levels. The opening night of each showing includes an opportunity to ‘Meet the Artist’.

Seasoned artists may contact our office to submit artwork for the gallery. New and emerging artists are welcome to submit through our Aspiring Artists Program.

Temporary Art Exhibit

Visit our temporary art exhibit in the foyer of the Balch Springs Library-Learning Center. The exhibit, installed by local historian, Marilyn Kosanke, is rotated every three months and focuses on items of historic interest. The exhibit is free and open to the public during center hours.

Population(s) Served

The exhibit, “Balch Springs - The Early Days”, covers the years from 1845 to 1953.  It gives a historical account from the days of the Republic of Texas until the date of  the city’s incorporation. Visitors to the exhibit can explore the early days through textual and visual accounts. History buffs will also delight in the Local History/Genealogy Collection, which is host to newspapers and information not found in other collections.
