Both the conference and the ambassador program bring together teens from all across Birmingham. This is one of the rare opportunities in Birmingham to make a friend not only from another school, but from a whole different walk of life.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The current program is a day-long conference hosted in downtown Birmingham. The event is free for the attendees who apply and are chosen to attend. The event includes goodie bags, snacks and lunch, free of charge. The day has empowering speakers, a selection of breakout sessions and entertainment in between to increase engagement.

The ambassador program is a post-conference opportunity for attendees to receive closer mentoring. The group meets to volunteer at local soup kitchens, climb the courses at Red Mountain Park, learn how to shop and cook a healthy meal, train on scholarship applications and more.

YWEC welcomes teens 14-19 years of age to apply to attend their free annual event. The event focuses on career and college education as well as financial savviness, community engagement and life planning. YWEC not only hosts an annual conference each Spring, but welcomes attendees to interview for a spot in the YWEC ambassador group which meets and volunteers monthly in between conferences.

Our capabilities include a strong knowledge of the Birmingham area and the weaknesses of the education system in regards to college planning and financial planning. We are all Birmingham area graduates as well.

In the past 9 years, the conference has welcomed over 800 girls in total. Speakers have included female football players, nonprofit directors, women in politics, scientists and more.
