What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

People Empowering People (PEP)

The mission of People Empowering People (P.E.P) program is to provide internship, empowerment workshops and support services to people who are in disadvantaged positions due to incarceration, poverty, homelessness or involvement in the criminal justice system. Our goal is to help people understand that they hold the power to create and shape how they live and grow. Our objective is to give support to people who are transitioning from homelessness or to assist other nonprofit organizations with programs that offer temporary assistance for needy families and individuals transitioning to independency and employment. The intent of the objective is to decrease rates of recidivism by providing support services (i.e., work experience), basic educational skills and resource coordination that can offer viable alternatives to bad habits and choices.

Population(s) Served

The Mentoring Program mission is striving to provide a platform for women that will address self-esteem and social competency, while building strong relationships. We hope to profoundly impact the lives of women and encourage them to live life to its fullest potential. Our Goal is to impact young adults during a pivotal point as they transition and blossom into adulthood by helping them to practice good decision-making and goal-setting. Also to encourage adult women to develop, reach and maintain their life goals. Our objective is improved self-esteem, leadership skills (ability to make good decisions) and knowledge about future choices.

Population(s) Served

The scholarship program will provide women a second chance at a college education. Second Chance scholars are individuals who, for a variety of reasons, did not attend or graduate from college immediately after high school or who are returning to college. The objective of a scholarship fund is to give money for educational expenses, books, tuition and more to applicants who meet specific criteria.Annual scholarships can be established with an outright gift of $1,000.00. However, this amount will be based on the amount of funds WEW raises. The gift is awarded to recipients annually (qualifications will be reviewed yearly). Unlike an endowed scholarship, an annual scholarship is not a permanent fund and is awarded only as long as sufficient funds are contributed and available.
