Program 1
Expansion of musical play "REPLAY", previously titled "Weaker People...a dangerous notion" when it debuted as a Broadway benefit for Operation Respect in 2012. The original creative team and executive directors have worked all year to improve/expand the creative material, which has resulted in a more traditional-length Broadway script and score. A sneak-preview album was made available for purchase on the music site bandcamp.com to help build an audience for the upcoming Broadway production. The executive directors have also organized, with the help of pro bono legal counsel, all necessary legal materials to move the show into pre-production, including licensing agreements, artistic agreements, operating agreements, and the formation of Weaker People Limited Liability Company (which required a $200 formation fee). While expanding the reach of "REPLAY" is still a work in progress, it has impacted - since its inception - both the artists involved in its evolution and those who were audience members at the original benefit production, have listened to/downloaded music from the play, or have watched video footage of the play and press clips. This is at minimum 2,000 people.
Program 2
Arts teaming up with Sciences. After becoming TED Talks fanatics, we are inspired to be an artistic organization on the forefront of scientific innovation. While this can truly go anywhere, we are focused right now on using some new innovations for a revival of our musical "REPLAY". We are aiming to bring "REPLAY" back to Broadway with a much more immersive element than its previous incarnation. Details we are working on are a) developing an app which coordinates moments in the scripted play with audience members' cell phones (ie, receiving text messages and social media posts that the characters are presumably sending and seeing). Yes, they will be asked to keep their cell phones on!; b) bringing the sense of smell to a Broadway experience. Our show takes place mostly in a high school cafeteria. The familiar smell alone can have a great sense memory impact on audience members' emotional experience; c) augmented reality - we're working on teaming up with a tech company like Google or Epson to create an "augmented reality" experience through special glasses which audience members would wear. The augmented moments would only occue during portions of the show which are meant to be characters' fantasies. This will benefit the up and coming tech professionals we will employ, as well as benefiting the thousands of audience members who will have an immersive theatrical experience they have not had access to before.
Program 3
Our new web series "MAKING IT (How To Get On Broadway)". The 2014 tax year has seen 3 episodes of this web series published in YouTube, though more have been published since. In each episode, a different professional in the Broadway theater/film community answers questions about their background in the business, how they became powerful, respected, and reputable professionals in their areas, and what advice they have for those who are pursuing - or would like to pursue - a similar career. This falls in line with our goal to aid and give opportunities to up-and-coming artists. So far, these videos have received over 500 views.
