EFFORTZ FOUNDATION INC
Providing an Education for Tanzania's Children
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Ability to find additional sources of revenue in order to continue saving Maasai girls from forced marriages through educational scholarships.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
EfforTZ Scholarship Program
We strive to advance the educational opportunities of impoverished children by providing scholarships to attend pre-secondary, and secondary schools as well as vocational schools, community colleges, and other institutions of higher learning.
Our scholarships cover tuition as well as the costs of medical care, clothing, school transportation and, where necessary, room and board. Two of our more significant target populations for these scholarships are orphaned and abandoned boys and educationally deprived Maasai girls.
EfforTZ English Enrichment Activities Program
Teaching children a second language
requires a special set of skills that few
Tanzanian teachers have.
Our volunteer educators work in the
public primary schools providing
enrichment activities to stimulate the
students desire to learn and to give the
teachers learning friendly methods of
instruction.
EfforTZ School Supplies Program
To be successful in school, students need
books and materials. Yet there are almost
none available to students in Tanzania.
The EfforTZ School Supplies program provides Tanzanian educational institutions with on-site English book libraries and its students with school supplies which it obtains through in-kind donations.
EfforTZ Orphan Home Care Program
EfforTZ has some orphaned and abandoned male scholarship students that do not have a home to go to during school recesses. EfforTZ provides that home with both a day-to-day caretaker as well as an academic and personal development aide as well.
