Overview

Self-reported by organization

Children Sports
International envisions though its community Youth Sports Program(http://www.childrensportsinternational.org/sports.html)  and
services, thousands of young people, coaches, educators and volunteers, can
unite to help inspire change in their local community and in under-served areas
around the world.  We envision our programs can provide positive
measurable outcomes that make a lasting impact in lives of children. This past
year we have been fortunate to be able to have the dedication and support from
hundreds of volunteers to help inspire change at our local community events and
their commitment as volunteer coaches in our programs. We were also awarded the
Top-Rated 2012 Award by Great Non-Profits. We plan to expand in 3 local schools
by this summer and hope we can expand our board and advisory committees to help
us reach out to more communities and find the resources we need for long-term sustainability.

Funding Needs

We are 100% volunteered based, no staff takes a salary and we do the work we do because we care about our community, children’s future and the environment we live in. We depend on private donors, foundations and sponsors to cover everything from purchasing sports performance training equipment, office supplies, and fees for organizing special events.  Their investment fuels our long-term mission, our ability to scale as an organization and our mission to continue using 100% of public donations for spreading peace and opportunity through sports.

Principal Officer

Mr. Danny Vasquez

BIO

Danny
Vasquez is the founder of Children Sports International and has an extensive
background in exercise physiology, strength training, injury rehabilitation and
has been a practicing Strength and Conditioning Coach since 2010.

Danny has been sharing his passion for sports
performance, fitness and injury prevention for several health publications and
has a diverse background working with children, collegiate and professional athletes,
spinal cord injuries and geriatrics. He earned his bachelor's degree in
kinesiology from California State University, Los Angeles, and is a NSCA
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSCS.

Danny founded Children
Sports International in as a way to create a healthier, better future for all
children and to ameliorate suffering in underprivileged parts of the world.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, he experienced first-hand the diversity of
cultures ingrained within the communities.  He envisions sports being
instrumental in countering the growing disparity amongst low-income families
and a way to promote peace and unity in the world while providing youth with
health, education and safety.

STATEMENT FROM THE Principal Officer

"When we started
Children Sports International, we had the idea of creating a volunteer based
organization that was centered around youth in the community. We recruit
college and university students from all over the city to help out as interns
and coaches to help us reach out to the children and communities in need. We
made a bold promise to the general public — 100% of their donations would go
directly to help fund our youth sports and volunteer programs. We'd find
another way to cover our operating expenses. We are 100% volunteered based, no
staff takes a salary and we do the work we do because we care about our
community, children’s future and the environment we live in.

"I believe there is something intrinsic in each of us that call
us to serve. We all have a purpose or mission in life; you just have to be
willing to listen."
