BARC's Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Program

BARC is a non-profit all volunteer group dedicated to animal welfare. We obtained our (501C3) status in 2002. Our main focus is to eliminate the euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats by promoting and providing spay/neuter surgeries for pets of low-income families.

BARC is the largest spay/neuter provider in the St. Louis area specifically targeting the low-income population.

We have received several spay/neuter grants in the past which have helped to fund our relentless endeavor. Due to these generous grants and additional funding from our donors, BARC has been able to provide over 58,000 spay/neuters for pets of low-income families since October 2003.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to completely eradicate the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable dogs and cats in the St. Louis Metro area through best practice spay/neuter programs. We hope other organizations will join this movement so this goal can be achieved not only in St. Louis, but eventually in the entire USA as well.

Promoting and providing free or low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for the low-income pet owners in the St. Louis MCA. BARC removes all financial barriers and excuses for not fixing your pets.

Year round fundraising efforts in order to increase the amount of surgeries we are able to provide to the low-income population.

We have not reached zero euthanasia in St. Louis yet, but we are on our way!
