Montessori Nursery School Programs for Underprivileged Children in Sri Lanka

A.C.T. - Aiding Children Together, Inc. provides operational support for Montessori Nursery Schools in Galle and Lahugala, Sri Lanka serving preschool aged children from impoverished families.

Population(s) Served

This A.C.T. - Aiding Children Together, Inc. program links supporters in the U.S. with children living in extreme poverty on a remote tea estate near Udugama, Sri Lanka.  Most of these children of laborers on the estate do not attend school, as the nearest village school is miles away and no transportation is available. The program aims to break a cycle of illiteracy and poverty through the provision of education and the improvement of nutrition, health and living conditions.
