Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Helpline - provides information about the disease, care-giving and referrals (approx. 2,000 calls/year); Support Groups - assist caregivers in decision-making, handling fears and emotions, managing day-to-day activities (over 2,500 participants/year); Newsletter - geared to family caregivers (over 20,000 copies/year); Speaker's Bureau - provide information to general public, business/church groups, healthcare facilities, police/fire personnel (over 17,000 attendees/year); Family Assistance - case-management (about 33 families currently served); Caregiver's Orientation -education for family caregivers (about 150 trained during past year); Sadie Mager Respite Care Fund - provide grants for patient care while caregiver gets a break; Edwin Bozenski Memorial Fund - financial assistance for late-stage care products; Loan/Purchase Library - printed, audio, and video materials; Advocates Network - provides information to grass-roots network of caregivers, professionals and others interested in tracking and influencing federal and state policy issues (especially research funding)
