What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Global Programs

Landmine Survivors Network works in seven mine-infested countries: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Colombia, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Jordan, Mozambique, and Vietnam. LSN's integrated programs focus on health (physical and psychological well-being), economic opportunity (jobs and livelihood), and rights (advocacy, social integration, and barrier-free access). LSN hires and trains local amputees as community-based Outreach Workers who educate, inspire and offer assistance to survivors and those around them. We link survivors to rehabilitation services, provide peer counseling and direct assistance, and promote social and economic reintegration. These programs offer a solid foundation for resiliency and rehabilitation. LSN employs 130 staff around the world most of whom are survivors. LSN has helped thousands of families affected by mines, war and civil strife, provided more than 65,000 home and hospital visits, and helped launch hundreds of survivor-owned businesses in war-torn communities.
