Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The NFA has participated in cutting edge research, including our published Patient Assessment Survey; Functionality of Women with Fibromyalgia Study, and by hosting the first of its kind Research Symposium: The Discovery Meeting, which brought together over 36 of the top pain scientists from around the world, the exchange of scientific findings, the meet up and discussion by 7 pharmaceutical organizations all discussing the needs of people with FM at the same time, and much, much more! The NFA has created, implemented and helped produce over 24 Continuing Medical Education programs, developed and established the NFA Leader’s Against Pain Program, which taught over 240 individuals how to gain a media presence, act as a FM patient advocate, and bring recognition to the issues facing people with FM pain through leadership and by leading support groups around the US and the world. The NFA held over 16 Fibromyalgia AWARENESS DAY events, which resulted in over 1,000 government proclamations naming May 12th as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, and was responsible for tens of thousands of media stories that brought awareness to fibromyalgia and the over 10 million people living with this life altering illness! The NFA listens to the FM community and accepts the responsibility and carries out the programs to assure that the members of our fibro community see the NFA as their friend, providing the support and assistance they need and deserve.
