Catalyze

The 1010 Project connects resource with need in the context of friendshiNetworking, Service Learning and Reciprocal Relationships.

* Income Generation - Our income generation initiative provides
micro-grants to community based organizations for the development of
internal resources. Examples of income-generating activities include
poultry keeping, farming, jewelry making, milk production, tailoring,
and peanut butter production.

* Networking - Our networking
initiative incentivizes participation in The 1010 Project Network by
providing trainings, workshops, and access to external resources. The
leadership of our respective partners gather bi-monthly to share best
practices, troubleshoot challenges, and learn from one another.

* Service Learning - Our service learning initiative provides students
and adults with an opportunity to listen, learn, and serve alongside
our partners in the field. This experience epitomizes our two-fold
approach to global poverty, emphasizing both development and advocacy
work. Past participants have included high school students, college
students, and adults.

* Reciprocal Relationships - Our partner
organizations have roots in their communities, and we build strong,
long-lasting relationships with members. We offer them a helping hand;
which includes listening to, learning from, and humbly serving
alongside the true experts in the development field - the poor. It is
our belief that quality relationships and lasting partnerships are
critical success factors in breaking the cycle of poverty.

Population(s) Served

The 1010 Project addresses systemic global poverty by creating
awareness, initiating action, and ultimately encouraging participants
to become activists on behalf of the global poor.

Our Advocacy Program utilizes five components: Web-based Initiatives, Events, Networking, Service Learning, and Internships

* Web-Based Initiatives - Our web-based initiatives educate, connect,
and encourage participants through a variety of digital mediums:
website, enewsletters, social media, Facebook, Myspace, and Youtube

* Community Events - Our events offer participants the opportunity to
interact with staff, volunteers, partners, and board members. Events
include, but are not limited to campus-based activities, movie nights,
concerts, benefit dinners, community dinners, art shows, global
inequity banquets and open houses.

* Networking - Our
networking involves collaborating with like-minded entities working
within the private, public, and social sectors. We have collaborated
with businesses, universities, religious institutions, government
institutions, and nonprofits; all concerned with breaking the cycle of
poverty.

* Service Learning - Our service learning initiative
provides students and adults with an opportunity to listen, learn, and
serve alongside our partners in the field. This experience epitomizes
our two-fold approach to global poverty, emphasizing both development
and advocacy. Participants have included high school students, college
students, and adults.

* Internships - Our internships offer
participants the opportunity to have real leadership and responsibility
within the organization. Interns and volunteers are the driving force
of our Advocacy work and the organization in general.
