What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
To date, since our founding in January 2005, we have instituted several programs that serve both Africa and African Americans. Among these are: developing a virtual library that we expect to grow into the world's largest museum and library devoted to African history. A design student from a major Chicago architectural firm has started on the design; a site has been located; and a fundraising committee is currently being formed. Our Montreal chapter has inaugurated our Ambassador Program, an essay-writing program for eighth graders that sends the winner of the contest to the country he or she wrote about. The underlying idea is to teach young people about other people and their cultures. Finally, several of our chapters are forming "Dollars for Scholars" programs in their areas.
