What we aim to solve
Coleman Professional Services, a non-profit provider of behavioral health and addiction recovery programs strives to provide the highest level of clinical behavioral healthcare to all, regardless of ability to pay, while reducing the stigma associated with mental illness by having open access to services, ensure those who are homeless with permanent supportive housing while helping clients qualify for, attain and keep employment. We firmly believe that no one is able to recover without a safe place to live and a means of support.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Behavioral Health Services
Clinical outpatient psychiatric and counseling provides evaluation, medication and individualized & group psychotherapy. Most clients receive some public assistance.
Vocational program provides testing / evaluation and a work environment program to modify employment behavior in clients. All clients receive some public assistance
After care program provides psychiatry/psychology services, case management and 24 hour crisis services. Most clients receive some public assistance.
Residential programs provide residential and independent living services. All clients receive some public assistance.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Coleman Professional Services has the goal of reducing our clients dependence on entitlements, increasing employment rates of those with intellectual disabilities and fostering recovery through evidence-based best practices in clinical behavioral health services.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Coleman Professional Services' strategies include providing open access to psychiatry, counseling, case management, diagnostic assessments, emergency prescreening, 24/7crisis intervention, crisis stabilization and mobile response, vocational rehabilitation employment, permanent housing resources and placements, supportive housing, peer support, payee services, substance use disorders, guardianship, medication assisted treatment, mediation, transitional aged youth support, crisis and opiate hotlines.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Coleman Professional Services has more than 800 employees with 26 physical locations in 9 counties throughout Ohio. We rely on a social enterprise business model to diversity our funding streams to support the organization's award-winning clinical services.
Our core clinical competencies are enhanced by building independence through crisis stabilization, residential services including group home living and supportive housing, and Adult Day Services while we change destinies through employment services, social services including adult protective service, mediation and eldercare navigator programs, and pregnancy services.
Our social enterprises include Consultation Services (strategic planning, philanthropy, grants, residential planning and development, project management, and executive coaching); Coleman Data Solutions (a certified state use nonprofit providing cost-effective, secure and compliant data conversion and management); Coleman Rental Management (for placement and discharge of clients to residential location to optimize their recovery); The Bean & The Baker cafe.
