Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
To provide financial support to the Peninsula Library & Historical Society through a professionally managed endowment fund.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Encourage and recognize donations from the community, oversee investment advisors managing the endowment and publicize the purpose of the endowment fund. We donate funds to the Peninsula Library & Historical Society according to a board approved distribution policy.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Foundation board is comprised of volunteer board members who use their professional skills to implement a fund raising plan and
oversee fund management. The Foundation engages an Administrator through a contract to assist with implementation.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The Foundation has distributed funds to the the Peninsula Library & Historical Society every year since 2010 for a total of $156,995. The Foundation supported the Library's recent capital improvements project by encouraging community donations to the Library's project and by offering funds as a loan if needed. The Foundation's goal is to continue annual financial support of the Library. Its ultimate goal is to achieve $10,000,000 in the endowment fund. This amount will help sustain the Library as a treasured community asset and help the Library withstand
anticipated decreases in public funding .
