Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Live Y'ers
Live Y'ers is an after-school & mentoring program that was established in 1991 to address the high rate of teen pregnancy and associated high school drop out rate in Vanderburgh County. Serving an average of 225 at-risk girls each year, Live Y'ers is offered in grades 3 - 8 at two Evansville elementary schools (Glenwood Leadership Academy & Lodge Community School), both Title I schools where over 90% of families are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Most participants move on to Bosse High School, and our program is offered there as well.
The program is unique in that we develop a 10-year relationship with our participants focused on the upward mobility and success of girls. This long-term relationship allows us to reach our overall goals: graduation from high school, delay of pregnancy, embracing a drug-free lifestyle, career exploration, and the adoption of a college-going mindset.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
The YWCA envisions a healthy community transformed by racial and gender equality, where women and girls, particularly those of color, have equal access to opportunity, and there is social justice for all people.
We won't stop until the world sees women, girls and people of color the way we do -- Equal. Powerful. Unstoppable.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
YWCA will engage strategically aligned committees to achieve the goals of the strategic plan. Our goals fall under 3 mission related areas: women's and girls' empowerment, racial justice, and substance abuse AND 3 enterprise related areas: operational effectiveness, financial viability, and community profile.
