What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Child Welfare Services
YOS provides at-risk families with intensive stabilization, extended family support, and educational services so they remain together safely. When it is not safe for a child to remain with his/her biological family, YOS provides safe homes and stable families through traditional and specialized foster care services. YOS serves youth in the child welfare system with transitional living programs as well as foster care to prepare them for successful adulthood.
Counseling Services
Through a range of one-on-one, group or family services, including evidence-based outpatient behavioral health services, substance abuse intervention, 24/7 crisis intervention, and case management, YOS helps youth learn to overcome challenges and make changes needed to live healthier lives. YOS provides a unique approach to providing services which includes office-based services but also wherever the youth is at in the community, whether that be at the home, school, or somewhere else in the community.
Juvenile Justice Services
Counseling, case management, Multi-Systemic Family Therapy (MST), MST for Problem Sexual Behaviors, evening and day reporting centers, and crisis intervention services offer alternatives to detention as well as provide assistance to youth awaiting court, and support for those exiting the juvenile justice system and reentering the community. By addressing obstacles that prevent their future success, the Juvenile Justice program also prevents youth from experiencing recidivism.
Prevention Services
YOS offers in-school prevention and out-of-school programs to help youth and families develop the skills, opportunities, and recognition they need to make good choices and pursue positive activities. These programs focus on substance abuse prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, summer employment, workforce development training, and life skills training including communication, leadership, and conflict resolution.
