This award goes to the recipient who “best embraces the intellectual curiosity and scientific vitality” of Dr. C. Walton Lillehei. Established via a combined gift from the Medtronic Foundation and matched by the Dr. C. Walton Lillehei family, the Lillehei Surgical Society is honored to identify two outstanding promising young surgical investigators in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.

This award will be given to the recipient who best exemplifies and embraces the “scientific rigor and application of experimental surgery” of Dr. Richard C. Lillehei. Established via a combined gift from the Medtronic Foundation and matched by the Dr. C. Walton Lillehei family, the Lillehei Surgical Society is honored to identify two outstanding promising young surgical investigators in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
