What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Blue Sky Project

Blue Sky Project—a collaborative of the University of Dayton’s College of Arts & Sciences, ArtStreet and Involvement Advocacy—is an internationally-competitive summer artist residency. After four years of operating in McHenry County, Illinois, the program has
relocated to Dayton beginning this summer, 2009.

Committed to producing significant works of contemporary art, Blue Sky Project links five professional artists from around the world with 40 young people aged 14 - 18 from throughout Montgomery County, to pursue projects proposed by the artists.

Blue Sky’s objectives are threefold:
•    Provide an environment for the Resident Artists to extend their own artistic exploration and studio practice in a unique collaborative setting with young artists;

•    Use the contemporary art-making process to develop the leadership, self-awareness, critical-thinking, creative problem-solving and collaborative skills of the Youth Participants;
•    Enhance the cultural life of the community by bringing new art  and new artists to Dayton.
