What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Career and College Prep
In additional to the college preparatory curriculum in which each student participates,YWLCS also provides a unique College and Career Prep program that helps each student envision her path toward college and career success. The program offers college exposure and experiential programs that open up our students to the possibilities of life as a college student and eventually, as a working professional in the career of their choice. By the end of high school, each YWLCS student has developed a career and post-secondary educational plan for herself that is consistent with her interests.
Leadership Development
The Leadership Program at YWLCS empowers students to explore their core values, envision their future, and realize their potential as they identify and address social needs of their community and school. Students take Leadership during 7th, 8th, and 12th grade. The program builds skills of communication, organization, and executive functioning that give students the strength and ability to advocate for themselves. They then participate in activities and hands-on programming which translate lessons into action.
