Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our ultimate goal it to help to realize a world where every person diagnosed with PV, ET, or MF has a cure available to them.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategies for working to realize a cure for PV, ET, and MF include:
Encourage collaboration across all aspects of MPN research activities to discourage silos of information. We believe that open communication and sharing is what will help move the science forward.
Fund high risk / high reward projects that are looking at unstudied aspects of theses diseases
Educate patients on their role in the process including providing information on clinical trials
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Good relationships with other organizations in the MPN field, which we leverage to ensure connections are made between patients and the information they need; researchers and funding; pharmaceutical companies and the information they need to move forward with their drug studies.
A rigorous and sensitive grant review process that teases out the proposals that leads us to the biggest impact to the patient communities.
A small but passionate and experienced staff.
A board of directors comprised mainly of people with a close personal connection to PV, ET, or MF.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In 2022, we funded 11 research projects to advance the research. Additionally, we hosted our annual Roundtable event where we convene patients, researchers and industry to discuss the research landscape.
