Mission

AVEC missions is simple, HELPING OTHERS. It all started in 1948 when 3 children drown in the Mississippi River of the banks of Alton, Illinois (25 miles NE of St. Louis, MO.) These drownings made the public aware of the need to have a team in need of disaster.

AVEC has the following programs:

Water Search and Rescue - assist boaters and local government agencies.

Land Search and Rescue - Assist local agencies when people are missing.

Boat tows - tow boats if stranded.

CPR/First Aid Classes - AVEC has 6 certified instructors that teach the public.

AED Classes - AVEC has certified instructors to teach how to use AED. New state of the art equipment is now used to teach the class.

Safety Programs for Children - AVEC teaches safety programs for children ages 4 - 12 years old relating to water or bicycle safety.
