Mission

THE ORGANIZATION IS DEDICATED TO EMPOWERMENT OF BATTERED WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN, AND THEREFORE IS COMMITTED TO THE ELIMINATION OF PERSONAL AND SOCIETAL VIOLENCE IN THEIR LIVES. IT IS THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION TO WORK FOR SOCIETAL CHANGES NECESSARY TO ELIMINATE BOTH PERSONAL AND SOCIETAL VIOLENCE AGAINST ALL PEOPLE. COMMUNITY REFERRAL AGENCY PROVIDES COMMUNITY BASED TEMPORARY SHELTER, A 24 HOUR HELP LINE, ADVOCACY WITH COMMUNITY RESOURCES, SUPPORT GROUPS, REFERRAL AND INFORMATION AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION.

IN CONNECTION WITH PROVIDING COMMUNITY-BASED TEMPORARY SHELTER AND ADVOCACY, THE COMMUNITY REFERRAL AGENCY RESPONDED TO 1,116 CRISIS/COUNSELING, 519 INFORMATIONAL REFERRALS, AND 4,992 PERSONAL ADVOCACY CALLS, AND PROVIDED TEMPORARY FOOD AND HOUSING TO 64 ADULTS AND 33 CHILDREN OVER 4,976 NIGHTS. ADVOCACY WAS PROVIDED TO 272 ADULTS AND 90 CHILDREN WITH 347 FOLLOW-UPS. THE PARTICIPANT TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED WAS 30,910 MILES IN 2019.
