Meals on Wheels

CEAP Meals on Wheels provides hot, nutritious, lunch-time meals for seniors and for individuals who are not able to prepare meals or leave their homes. For some, Meals on Wheels is a temporary solution while they recuperate from illness or surgery. For others, it provides a long-term opportunity to maintain independence. Participants contribute financially per meal, and subsidy funds are available for those in financial need. All meals are planned by a nutritionist, prepared by professional chefs, and provide one-third of adult’s Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA).

How we listen

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Seeking feedback from people served makes programs more responsive and effective. Here’s how this organization is listening.

done We shared information about our current feedback practices.
  • Who are the people you serve with your mission?

CEAP is a boundaryless food shelf, meaning we do not impose zip code or other geographic restrictions on visitors to our Food Market. We also do not impose income limits and we welcome neighbors of all ages and backgrounds.

  • How is your organization using feedback from the people you serve?

To identify and remedy poor client service experiences, To identify bright spots and enhance positive service experiences, To inform the development of new programs/projects, To identify where we are less inclusive or equitable across demographic groups

  • What significant change resulted from feedback?

In response to the feedback received from Staff, Volunteer, and Community Member feedback surveys conducted in early 2022, CEAP has formed a committee to review the findings that include staff members, volunteers, and program participants. The committee is currently determining actionable steps that CEAP can take to sustain positive experiences, and address opportunities for improvement.

  • Which of the following feedback practices does your organization routinely carry out?

We aim to collect feedback from as many people we serve as possible, We take steps to ensure people feel comfortable being honest with us, We look for patterns in feedback based on demographics (e.g., race, age, gender, etc.), We look for patterns in feedback based on people’s interactions with us (e.g., site, frequency of service, etc.), We engage the people who provide feedback in looking for ways we can improve in response, We act on the feedback we receive

  • What challenges does the organization face when collecting feedback?

It is difficult to get the people we serve to respond to requests for feedback
