Mission

The Itasca County Family YMCA is a powerful association of men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion to strengthen the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Since 1981, the Itasca County Family YMCA has helped kids and families live healthy lives in spirit, mind and body. Supported in part through contributions to the Annual Campaign, the Y provides membership assistance and scholarships to programs like summer camp, child care, LiveStrong, and Diabetes Prevention programs, to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Childcare Programs.

Includes Weefolks Childcare Center, Educare and Camp Wannago. State licensed programs that provide discovery, learning through play, field trips, intergenerational activities, swimming, gym time and qualified staff trained in positive behavior guidance. Emphasis is placed on developing physical, social, emotional and intellectual selves. All program emphasize the Y core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility.

Population(s) Served

A multi-generational space opened to all with a focus on programming for the aging population. The Active Living Center is open and free to all in the community. It is a place where one can join others in planned activities and programs, have coffee, or just come to socialize.

Population(s) Served

A free, supervised, drop-in youth center where kids in grades 2nd - 9th can go hang out, relax, play games and more. Youth sport programs include: basketball, judo, karate, soccer, swim team and t-ball. Free tutoring center and middle school programs.
