Financial management and strategy learning

Nonprofits learn about financial management, strategy, and governance through workshops, webinars, and a free online resource library. This program equips staff and board members to manage financial resources and requirements. In the most recent fiscal year, 100 training events were presented, reaching 3,400 individual staff and board members of nonprofits is every field of service.

Nonprofit loan fund

Nonprofits Assistance Fund provides access to flexible credit for nonprofit organizations for working capital, cash flow, and facilities. Loans are made in conjunction with technical assistance to help develop deeper understanding of the financial situation and implement plans to strengthen the financial health. Amounts, terms, and structure are flexible and structured to reflect the nonprofit's business model. Loans have been made to organizations in all fields of service.

BIO

Kate Barr is Executive Director of Nonprofits Assistance Fund, whose mission is to strengthen the community by investing capital and expertise in nonprofits. She oversees strategic and business planning, development, and external relations. Under her leadership NAF has become a premier resource for financing and training, and is a national leader on nonprofit strategy and finance as a speaker, blogger, and author. Before joining NAF in 2000, Kate was a bank executive and an arts administrator. She has been on the adjunct faculty at Hamline University and University of Minnesota and has served on numerous nonprofit boards.
