Mission Statement

The mission of Peace House Community is to provide a safe
and respectful listening environment for the homeless, sheltered, and
group-home residents of the Franklin Avenue neighborhood, and anyone who is feeling isolated from the larger community. Focus is on the 11:30 A.M. meditation and prayer, followed by a shared lunch. Peace House Community is open from 10 A.M. until 3 Monday through Friday.

This “Living Room of Franklin Avenue” offers peace during turbulent times in the lives of the community members, many of whom are dealing with issues of mental health and sobriety or the loss of employment, home, family, and social support. Peace House makes a difference by helping each person find their dignity that has been stripped away because of their life circumstances.
