Christian Opportunity Center

The people with special needs supported at COC decide with their teams what living arrangement best suits their individual needs, and are encouraged to be as independent as possible. Individual rooms express the tastes and preferences of the occupants. Our staff members, called Living Skills Advisors, are encouraged to be a partner, not a parent, and to be a supporter, not a server. Our staff also provide guidance and support with a Christian emphasis in accordance with our values. They give opportunity for devotional times and facilitate attendance at local churches, including worship services and Bible study groups.

Depending on the program, various other support services, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, recreational therapy, and nursing services, among others, are available.

Through our Spiritual Services program, COC works with people with disabilities to experience the joy of knowing that they are of value to God.

Our staff members regularly demonstrate their Christian values through their daily interactions with the people we support. Opportunities for devotion and prayer are a regular part of the lives of both our staff people and the people we support.
