What we aim to solve
The Krell Institute exists to promote the application of modern computing, communication and information technologies to national priorities.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Computational Science Graduate Fellowship Program
The DOE CSGF program selects highly qualified students and supports their research and academic study for their PhD graduate work in a computational science and engineering discipline area that is important to the US Department of Energy Office of Science and National Nuclear Security Administration.
Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship
The SSGF program selects highly qualified students in stewardship science disciplines that are important to the US Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration and supports their research and academic study for their PhD graduate work. Stewardship science includes areas of study relative to high energy density physics, nuclear science, materials under extreme conditions, and hydrodynamics.
Laboratory Residency Graduate Fellowship
The LRGF program encourages the training of scientists by providing financial support to PhD graduate students whose study and research is in the areas of applied science and engineering, visible/UV/x-ray spectroscopy, atomic theory, modeling, multi-scale, multi-physics, theory, and simulations and experiments, is accompanied by extended, practical work experience at one or more of the four DOE NNSA facilities.
