What we aim to solve
More than 55% of our kids are between the ages 6 to 11. It is recommended (APMA.org) that shoes should be replaced for kids in this age range approximately every five months. Many families cannot afford to follow the suggested guide which is why we have several teachers who see the kids on a day-to-day basis refer them to our program. A good pair of properly fitted and supportive shoes help to avoid foot, leg and back pain. As children get older their shoes start wearing down faster so there are benefits to having more than one pair of shoes. Also having more than one pair of shoes will extend the life of both pairs of shoes (Bloomfieldfootcare.com)

Context Notes
We receive a lot of referrals from the 211 Hotline. It is difficult to get the parents to complete surveys. Many of these families are overloaded with day to day care and needs for their families.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The overall short-term goal is to reach at least 50 unrepeated kids annually. Although we are having financial difficulty getting funding from grants we will continue to serve with whatever funds are available. The online shoe store has not the styles and brands of shoes that many children want. The shoes are very competitive with the generation of the youth today. So are planning to resume our private shopping events.
Since new properly fitted shoes are important part of the child's feet development, we would fit best with the #3 sustainable development goal.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
In 2024 we will resume our private shopping events. The parents and children will meet our team at a designated shoe store and the children can shop and select a pair of shoes of their choice. We serve children from both, St. Louis, MO and central Florida.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The United Way 211 Hotline of central Florida is another avenue to reach more families. During the back-to-school periods and holidays we will set up campaigns for shoe drives and as funding permits. The best measure of success is word of mouth. The more families we serve, the more growth in outreach.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since we have a direct simple mission, we focus on how many kids have received new shoes. Since our inception we have provided almost 8,900 kids in the U. S. with new shoes and have distributed over 500 pairs to an orphanage in Romania.

- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
