Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Case Management
Targeted Case Management (TCM) provides individuals with an advocate and partner to link them with resources and monitor their progress. Case Managers work with people one-on-one to connect persons served to community resources, including employment, housing and physical healthcare. TCM includes specialty services including Michigan Prisoner Re-entry Initiative (MPRI) and Specialized Residential Programs.
Psychiatry
CNS Healthcare offers a wide spectrum of community-based support services, psychiatry, medication management, psychotherapy, nursing services, and case management. CNS Healthcare’s services assist people with managing their mental illness and gaining maximum independence toward self-worth and recovery.
Therapy
Therapy services help people work through their thoughts and feelings, learning new coping skills to reach their goals. CNS’ experienced staff provide a variety of approaches including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Substance Use Therapy.
Children's Services
CNS Healthcare is pleased to offer psychotherapy and psychiatry for minors, under the age of 18. Our trained and experienced staff is equipped to provide a variety of psychotherapy interventions and modalities, for children and adolescents, including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral health service, Developmental disability, Intellectual disability, Learning disabilities, Solution Focused Therapy, and Substance Use Therapy. Our therapists have experience helping clients with a variety of problem areas including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, coping with divorce, adjustment problems, conduct disorders, and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders.
Clubhouses
A Clubhouse is a psychosocial program designed for rehabilitating adults diagnosed with a mental health challenge. The goal of the program is to contribute to the recovery of individuals through a supportive, rehabilitative environment.
Objectives of the program include:
- Focus on preventative health, anti-stigma, wellness, and stabilization
- Timely, caring, consumer-driven services
- Behavioral health awareness and family education
- Focus on preventative health, anti-stigma, wellness, and stabilization
Integrated Care
CNS Healthcare is proud to offer almost 50 support groups that facilitate recovery, coping skills, community inclusion, and wellness. Several are offered by peers, while others are offered within the case management and therapy programs. Peers have lived experiences with mental illness and/or substance abuse and therefore, have a unique understanding of mental health and recovery. Group programs are taught by certified CNS Healthcare Peer Support.
Individual Placement and Supports
IPS provides career opportunities to people traditionally denied jobs due to their medical conditions. IPS employees work with individuals to assess their career interests and prepare them to succeed in the workplace.
Community Resource
CNS Healthcare is committed to increasing knowledge and awareness about mental health among members in Southeast Michigan. Based on the firmly-held belief that knowledge is power, the CNS Healthcare Community Education Department travels throughout Michigan to provide fun, engaging, and informational presentations on a wide variety of topics.
Presentations may include, but are not limited to, the following topics:

- Time and Stress Management
- The Power of Positive Thinking
- Gender Socialization
- Mental Health and Physical Health
- Family Psychoeducation 101

Peer Support

Anti-Stigma Program
CNS Healthcare’s award-winning, nationally recognized Anti-Stigma Program celebrates the many contributions of people living with mental health illnesses and their recovery. Since its inception, the CNS Healthcare Anti-Stigma Program has touched and transformed the lives of people across the country. With poetry, music and personal testimonies, CNS Healthcare’s Anti-Stigma Team delivers the message that “hope and recovery are possible,” while emphasizing the importance of treating mental and physical disorders – the whole person, body and mind.
Substance Abuse Services
CNS Healthcare Adult Services are designed to foster independence and maximize individual potential while stabilizing and strengthening the community.
Adults who meet our minimum criteria, and have a diagnosable mental, behavioral, or emotional disorder, can receive a variety of services including psychological testing, case management, community support services, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and individual, group, and family therapy.
Crisis Intervention
The CNS Healthcare Crisis Intervention (CI) Program offers 24/7 on-call response, walk-ins during office hours or other means of face-to-face assessments or virtual care appointments. The crisis is assessed and immediate stabilization is offered either in-person, by phone or by contact with additional resources. Some of the resources include HAVEN, a domestic violence shelter, local police, ambulance services, Common Ground, community hospitals and 24-hour walk-in centers.
