Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Workforce Readiness
Goal: Increase the number of African Americans entering the Omaha workforce pipeline by eliminating barriers preventing our community from accessing opportunities for upward mobility.
Youth Attendance Navigator
Excessive absenteeism and truancy can be incredibly detrimental to a student’s academic success. To combat these problems, Urban League of Nebraska created Youth Attendance Navigators to work with students ages 12-18 in middle and high school who have records of poor attendance and have been/are at risk to be reported for truancy. This court-recognized diversion program can offer students the opportunity to stay out of court if they stay in school.
The Y.A.N. program is offered to students in the following middle and high schools:
• Benson High Magnet School
• Bryan High School
• King Science & Technology Magnet School
• McMillan Magnet Center
• Monroe Middle School
• Nathan Hale Middle School
• North High Magnet School
• Northwest High Magnet School
Whitney Young Program
Our services are designed to increase high school graduation rates, enhance college access, and to ultimately close the college enrollment and degree gaps among under-served groups.
