Mission

Since its inception in 1997, the Harvest of Books, Inc. has distributed over 100,000 books to first and second graders in the public, private and parochial schools of Lincoln. This year, our goal is to distribute 10,000 books to students the week of Thanksgiving.

This is a joint project between the Lincoln Education Association and the Lincoln Journal Star. Lincoln area bookstores participate by offering a 25% discount to the community for the purchase of these books for the Harvest. New age-appropriate books are accepted as well as donations. All donations are used to purchase new books.
