Japan-America Student Conference (JASC)

Each summer, up to 72 students from universities across Japan and the United States convene for a 3-4 week Conference to discuss some of the hottest topics facing the two nations. The program alternates host countries each year giving students the rare opportunity to see places, whether at home or abroad, and learn about their culture through the eyes of others. From politics to pop culture and everything in between, JASC offers motivated university students of all levels an outlet for ambition, intellect, and cultural stimulation. Not only do conference participants learn about one of the world’s most strategic bilateral alliances, they also have the opportunity to directly help reinforce the bonds between countries by sharing knowledge and experiences while making memories and friendships with other future leaders.

Supporting the vital strategic relationship between the U.S. and Korea, the Korea-America Student Conference (KASC) build connections between university students by allowing participants to gain a genuine understanding of their international counterparts through open and earnest discussion. This student-led conference brings together up to 30 students studying in the United States and the Republic of Korea for an academically rigorous, three-week-long summer program, during which students live, travel and conduct original, peer-reviewed research together. Students contribute to roundtable discussions that examine various contemporary sociopolitical issues through the lens of the US-ROK relationship, engage with distinguished speakers, and participate in cultural field trips while working toward the overarching goal of building trust and fostering international peace during their lifetimes.
