Safe Passage Emergency Shelter
The Family Crisis Center provides, residents that live and work in the Washington Metropolitan area, with domestic and family violence intervention and prevention services. Key program components are: 24 Hour Domestic Violence Hotline, the Safe Passage Emergency Shelter for battered women and their children, 12 week Victim Support-Therapeutic Counseling, 24 week Abuser Intervention Services, Children's Therapeutic Counseling, the Safe Visitation Center, Legal Advocacy, Community Outreach and Education, and Volunteer Support.
Crisis Hotline
The Crisis Hotline Program is operated 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is the primary entry into the emergency shelter, and the first contact with the Agency for most of the women. The respondents are trained crisis hotline workers. They provide the immediate services needed by most women to help them determine their best course of action to limit or rid themselves of the abuse.
