The 100 organization seeks to address socioeconomic issues in urban communities through mentoring youth, and serving as a resource for adults with a focus on: health & wellness, education, and economic empowerment.
Our programs

Young Entrepreneurs Program
Held at the Huber Community Life Center for students 13 to 19 years of age, this program focuses on mentoring and introducing students to the fundamentals of creating a business. The sessions conclude with a balanced lunch at the university cafeteria.
Saturday Leadership Academy
Held at the Headquarters for students 10 to 19 years of age, this program focuses on mentoring and life skills. The sessions conclude with a balanced lunch at the university cafeteria.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Mentoring: The 100 Black Men of Maryland’s goal is to mentor children and youth with a focus on life skills and scholastics.
Health & Wellness: The 100 Black Men of Maryland’s health and wellness goals are to raise awareness, provide access to health care and give health information that will ultimately promote behavior change resulting in a healthier lifestyle.
Education: The 100 Men of Maryland goal is to work with local school systems, along with corporate and community partners, to deliver educational support services and unique learning opportunities that assist youth in achieving their educational goals.
Our education initiatives inspire confidence, create cultural awareness and foster academic leadership.
Economic Empowerment: The 100 Black Men of Maryland goal is to promote economic empowerment as the ability to be self-determined in creating dreams, pursuing them and ultimately perpetuating them by establishing the mechanisms to sustain generational wealth.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The 100 strategy will be accomplished through, mentoring and community engagement which will help our organization to develop more targeted programs.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The 100 will accomplished program exploration through youth and adult focus groups to measure the effectiveness of our platforms. Afterward, the committee chairs evaluate the data and develops a budget for the required changes to the executive board for consideration/implementation.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The 100 organization has successfully launched a group mentoring program called the Saturday Leadership Academy and the Young Entrepreneurs.
Saturday Leadership Academy (SLA): The SLA is innovative approach to help our youth improve social and academic performance in school. The program accepts male and females in grades 3rd -12th; we help students develop life skills, scholastics, and enhance their learning through educational field trips.
The Academy requires each student to have an adult sponsor who is expected to contribute to the student's success.
Young Entrepreneurs: The Young Entrepreneurs Program is to help create a community where young people are empowered to take responsibility for their personal and professional future through creating and developing their own business plans to achieve financial independence.
