NORML Conferences & Legal Seminars

NORML, as the oldest and largest marijuana law reform organization, has convened more national conferences than any other drug law reform group at the "People's First Pot Conference" held in Washington, D.C. to our annual conference, citizens and policy-makers concerned with marijuana and marijuana
policy mark their calendars each year for the best and most informative annual drug law reform conference.

NORML’s legal seminars have outstanding speakers and are fully accredited by all states that require Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits for practicing attorneys.

In addition, the seminars have become wonderful opportunities to spend time in a relaxed setting with old friends, and to make new friends who share your opposition to marijuana prohibition. Each year our members and supporters look forward to celebrating the many victories in the fight to legalize marijuana for all adults.

The NORML Legal Committee (NLC) is composed of attorneys committed to the overall goals of NORML. These top-notch criminal defense lawyers regularly defend individuals charged with marijuana offenses, and they frequently provide pro bono assistance in important or unusual cases which may set favorable legal precedent or otherwise impact public policy. NORML lawyers have won many victories in the fight to legalize marijuana for all adults.

NORML offers continuing legal education (CLE) programs for practicing attorneys. These seminars are held each year in Key West and Aspen, where attorneys discuss emerging legal issues related to defense of marijuana consumers, legal issues in the cannabis industry, and support each other in the pursuit of justice. Currently, more than 350 practicing defense attorneys belong to the NLC. By defending marijuana consumers and challenging inappropriate law enforcement activities, the NLC has been a major force in the fight against marijuana prohibition.
