Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Thousands of women in the DMV experience an unexpected pregnancy each year, with approximately 6,000 women each year choosing abortion as a result. Assist Pregnancy Center believes there is always a better option than abortion for women and their partners facing an unexpected pregnancy. Assist is committed to stepping into the gap for women, addressing the lack of relational, emotional, or financial support that leads many to think abortion is their only option in an unexpected pregnancy. Assist also is committed to supporting women and men who have been impacted negatively by an abortion experience, helping them encounter healing and hope again.

Assist Pregnancy Center believes no individual in our community should navigate an unexpected pregnancy alone. Because of Assist's programming, families in our community are empowered to pursue positive relationships and thriving futures.

-Providing medical care to confirm and date pregnancy.
-Supporting the pregnancy decision making process through pregnancy options counseling.
-Delivering personalized coaching and support throughout pregnancy via individual and group mentoring and education programs.
-Equipping families with practical material resources to help prepare for the arrival of a new baby.
-Connecting women and their partners to community organizations and networks for support after birth.
-Facilitating recovery and healing for women and men impacted negatively by a past abortion through one-on-one and group programs.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Assist Pregnancy Center's small staff and over 75 volunteers work to deliver services five days a week to women and men visiting the Center from D.C., MD, and VA.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
