Mission

Our mission is to help Afghan children become educated, healthy, and productive citizens who are able to fully contribute to building Afghanistan?s civil society. What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Computer Education

Provide Afghan high school students with critical computer skills (MS Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet Navigation) and application experiences so they can compete for and obtain computer-related jobs in Afghanistan's rapidly emerging information technology marketplace.

Population(s) Served

Afghanistan's children have been the innocent victims of violence and conflict for over 30 years. HTAC believes that the best way to address the root causes of violence is to educate a new generation of Afghans who will embrace the principles of peace and reject violence.  Our peace education program helps Afghan children learn how to cope with the emotional trauma many of them have suffered while being exposed to violence in some form.  Children are taught how to respect each other, including those from different ethnic groups and for boys to respect girls.  They are taught how to work together to resolve differences, including the techniques of non-violent conflict resolution.
