OneGoal

OneGoal targets historically underserved high school students from low-income communities and empowers them to become OneGoal Fellows, reach their full potential and graduate from college. We recruit and select our regions’ high-performing teachers—those already working in high schools in low-income communities—and provide them with the curriculum, training and support to implement our three-year college success model with a cohort of Fellows, beginning in junior year of high school and continuing through the first day of sophomore year of college. In Years One and Two (junior and senior years of high school), the OneGoal course is taught daily as a credit-bearing class by Program Directors (PDs), teachers who implement the OneGoal model. PDs guide students to:

1) Develop, through practice and feedback, the non-cognitive mindsets, behaviors and skills of successful college students;
2) Increase their GPAs and standardized test scores in order to access more selective and supportive colleges; and
3) Take all the tactical steps to apply to, enroll in and gain financial aid to attend a match college.

In Year Three (freshman year of college), PDs continue to support their cohorts of students via intrusive, remote coaching to ensure that students demonstrate the academic, financial and social indicators of college success, driven by utilizing their non-cognitive skills, in the critical first year of college.
