Woodland ended 2020 with 6 students. All students had learning obstacles as well as significant mental health concerns. Female, age 15, medical complications, mental health problems and significantly credit deficient. Female, age 20, cognitively disabled, lack of bowel control and mental health disabilities. Female, age 17, severely credit deficient, severe complex chronic mental health issues. Male, 16 conduct disorder, untreated mental health problems and bully to staff and peers, severely credit deficient. Male age 18, selective mutism and unable to attain work due to mental health concerns, personal limitations and cultural discrepancies. Male grade 6 autistic, emotionally dysregulated, poor focus and learning difficulties.The vision in our brochure states: In a core academic setting, Woodland Academy's vision has a vocational focus using community service, internships and employment as vehicles for training educated, employed and responsible citizens.Covid has had a strong negative affect on WALC. With virtual learning, students have not been referred to WALC for services. The low population at WALC has put a severe strain on the finances of Woodland and has limited learning opportunities for current students.
