Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We are working to ensure that all South Carolinians are treated with equity and inclusion and afforded the dignity that they deserve. This is through ensuring they have access to the courts, ballot box, safe and affordable housing, food, education and healthcare. We do this by helping the community identify the needs and developing appropriate solutions through policy, advocacy and litigation. We do this to help ensure a just state for all who live here.

SC Appleseed is dedicated to affecting systemic change wherever we can do the most good — in and through the courthouse, legislature, administrative agencies, community and the media. We grow our impact by helping others do the same through education, training and co-counseling.

We have a strong and productive track record. We work directly with many of our state agencies, legislative bodies and communities. We have a history of passing important legislation, developing helpful state agency policies and bringing systemic/impact litigation

We have overseen the passage of legislation in our state: Landlord Tenant Act, High cost and Consumer Home loan Act, Payday Lending Reform, Heirs property reform, Raise the Age. We have numerous litigation victories, and sit on many advisory and state agency advisory boards. We are working daily with the impacted community to address critical problems.
