With an average class size of only 16, teachers, coaches, and counselors provide wise, individualized guidance at every step, preparing students for best-fit colleges, mentoring them in life-shaping qualities of good character, and helping them reach their fullest potential.
Students develop a deep respect for difference as they collaborate with peers from more than 20 metro-Atlanta counties and a broad array of religious, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Woodward offers prolific opportunities to try and triumph, including 20 AP courses, a Transition Program for students with mild learning differences in grades two through eight, and a wide range of clubs, arts opportunities, and athletic options.
Our Global Connections program allows students to study abroad with homestay programs; engage in partner school relationships around the world; and interact with students at the Terranova School, our sister school in Zambia. Woodward is the first school in the nation to implement International Certification testing for Upper School students in five languages.
A typical Woodward Academy graduating class attends more than 100 different colleges and universities, devotes 5,000 hours to community service projects, and earns more than $14 million in collegiate scholarship awards.

Wise, Individual Guidance
At Woodward Academy, our focus is on innovative practices in the classroom with a curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking. Students find opportunities to explore and excel at every level, whatever their interests. Their teachers, coaches, and counselors provide wise guidance at every step—from the first day of Pre-K to the final AP exam—preparing students for best-fit colleges, mentoring them in life-shaping qualities of good character, and helping them reach their fullest potential. In addition to our rigorous academic program for mainstream students, we also offer our acclaimed Transition Program for students with diagnosed learning disabilities in grades 2–6 (4–6 at Woodward North).

At Woodward Academy, diversity is more than skin deep. Woodward students develop a deep respect for difference as they collaborate with peers who come from 23 metro Atlanta counties and a broad array of religious, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Our students not only learn about other cultures but experience them daily in their interactions with friends and in their celebrations of special holidays throughout the year including Ramadan, Diwali, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Chinese New Year, NowRuz, and others.
