World Cataract Foundation
The World Cataract Foundation's program includes volunteer surgery/training teams that travel to developing nations to provide free eye care surgery for those who would otherwise not receive care; partnering with governments and physicians in geographical areas to create cataract-free zones by providing free surgery for the underserved; the Medical Personnel Exchange Program that provides advanced training for ophthalmologists from developing countries in Memphis, Tennessee; mentoring ophthalmologists abroad so they may receive access to modern training towards the care of their neighbors; sharing of information with collaborators to in the fight against cataract blindness.
