As an affiliated chapter of the American Rose Society, the goals of the Reno Rose Society are to promote education of the horticulture, history and future of the genus Rose among members of the Reno Rose Society, the ARS and the rose growing public, and to promote public rose gardens as educational and recreational resources.

"Art of Roses" Annual Show ~ part of Reno's Artown

The Reno Rose Society continues its committment to extend the use, appreciation, knowledge base, and cultivation of roses by offering the "Art of Roses" annual events and other educational programs throughout the year.

Population(s) Served

The Reno Rose Society hosts an annual public rose pruning demonstration the last Saturday in March at the Reno Municipal Rose Garden in Idlewild Park. This free event provides an opportunity for anyone to learn how to prune roses and how to do spring rose care. Instruction in Spanish offered by appointment or last Wednesday of March.
