Mission Statement

The mission of the Southeastern Technical College Foundation shall be to promote the cause of technical and adult education at STC by acquiring and administering monetary gifts, grants, and other funds and properties principally from area industries, businesses, individuals, other organizations, as well as faculty, staff, and other friends of STC. Furthermore, our mission shall be to partner with donors to invest in Southeastern Technical College to build stronger communities and a better Georgia. The STC Foundation began in 1989 as an organization committed to scholarships. Since then, its area of interests have expanded to fund adult literacy, community relations, special needs, emergency funds for students, as well as new programs.

BIO

Tom Peterson, President, has been a member of the STC Foundation since 1996 and has served as President since 1997. As a local businessman, Mr. Peterson understands the importance of technical education and economic development. He is a community volunteer for many causes. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Peterson now owns his own realty company. Mr. Peterson is a strong advocate of Southeastern Technical College and speaks at various events on the importance of technical education.
