This film is an up beat view of the volunteer work done every day in communities across the world by ordinary people.
We will show the different types of non-profits working in communities, The non-profits that will be featured in the first film will be----
Gerontology Adv Pendergrass Food Bank
The food bank in pendergrass serves up to 1,500 families during the holidays. We are seeking donations for Thanksgiving and Christmas to purchase 1800 Turkeys/Hams along with the other items for a holiday meal. Sixty percent of the clients are over the age of 65 with most of this group between the ages of 70 to 88. All persons receiving food assistance are screened to make sure they qualify for the program. In the last holiday food giveaway over 1,000 families were provided food for their Christmas meal with 200 families turned away due to a lack of food. We are expecting a large increase this year due to the ecomony.
